The Zurich Renegades (Swiss first division) have announced the signing of quarterback Perry Patterson.
Perry Patterson (6’4”, 245 lb) of the University of Syracuse has signed as the quarterback of the Zurich Renegades of the Swiss first division. In 2009/2010 Patterson played for the Rochester Raiders of the IFL throwing for 4,603 yards and 102 TDs. In 2008 played with the Columbus Destroyers and Dallas Desperados of the AFL.
Prior to that, the Lancaster, Pennsylvania native was a four-year starter for Syracuse. As a senior, he had one of the best seasons in Syracuse history finishing the year in the top 10 on a number of SU single-season record lists. He is fourth in completions (158), second in pass attempts (300) and tied for ninth in touchdowns (12). Patterson's interception percentage of 1.33 was the fourth-best mark in the NCAA and his career mark of 2.90 ranked 17th among active players at the time.
Patterson ranks in the top five on several Syracuse career record lists. He is fourth on the all-time in passing yards (5,220), third in career completions (456), third in career passing attempts (862), fifth in completion percentage (.529), fifth in career touchdown passes (25) and fifth in career plays (1,094).
