World Championship MVP Nate Kmic has signed with the Catania Elephants (Italy – top division) for the 2012 season.

Nate Kmic (5’9”, 195 lb) has signed with the Catania Elephants and with this gives the team a powerful running attack. The Elephants reached the Italian championship game in 2010.

Kmic was the star of the 2011 IFAF Senior World Championship, winning tournament MVP honors as the United States defeated Canada to win the Gold Medal in Vienna on July 16.

A couple of weeks later Nate was starting for the Finnish team Lappeenranta Rajaritarit (Border Knights) of the Maple League (Finnish top division) to replace their injured running back for the last two games of the regular season and the playoffs. The team reached the Finnish semifinals.

Kmic, is the NCAA all-time rushing yardage record holder with 8,074 yards gained in his career with Mount Union (NCAA Div. III). In Finland he put up great numbers. In the final two games of the season, Nate carried the ball 33 times for 283 yards (8 yards per carry) and scored two touchdowns.
