Lions crush Rocks 63-0 to stay on top of the South Division
Pawel Klawender and the Gliwice Lions continued their dominance of the PLFA II South on Sunday in Radom, taking apart the Rocks by a score of 63-0 to remain undefeated and maintain their position atop the division.
Klawender ran twice for scores and threw for two more in the victory. He gave the Lions all the points they would need in the first quarter, taking it in himself from 13 yards out. Klawender added a 35-yard scoring run later in the game, although he came out at quarterback after the Lions had built a 42-0 lead by halftime.
Despite the loss, the Rocks remain in the playoff hunt at 1-2, a game behind the third-place Krakow Knights. Unfortunately for Radom, they will have to face the Lions one more time before the season is done, with the two teams drawing each other for the home-and-home series this year.
The Rocks get a chance to rest up before their next game, which doesn't take place for nearly a month. That will come on July 24 in Ruda Slaska, where Radom will take on the currently undefeated Warriors. Gliwice, on the other hand, will be right back on the field next weekend, traveling to Tychy to take on the winless Falcons on July 2.
