Home: Budapest Wolves - 36
Away: Cineplexx Blue Devils - 14

On Saturday, the Budapest Wolves hosted the Austrian Cineplexx Blue Devils. The first game of the 2012 CEFL season went to the Wolves -- in a surprisingly convincing win.

The first quarter was no indication, that the final outcome would be so one sided. Behind George Bender's runs and Marion Bunderla's receptions, the Austrians built a 14-point lead, but those were in the end their only points of the game.

In the second quarter the roles changed and the Wolves got back in the game, reducing the away team's lead to just a point.

From the second half Csaba Juhász lead the hungarian offense and the Wolves defense handled all of the Devils' attempt. András Végvári, Daniel Stadler and Gabor Miakich stood out and their excellent performance must be highlighted. Touchdowns were scored by Peter Lenner, Krisztian Piros, Laszlo Csizmazia and Peter Cseperkáló, while thanks to Storcz András’s accurate shots, Wolves scored on extra points as well.

In the end, the Wolves even had an opportunity to play some of their backup and new players -- something that not many would've thought prior to the game. All in all, a well deserved win, that after week one, places the Wolves at the top of the standings.
